The revered Luang Por Thob Thammapanyo, also known as Phra Khru Wichit Phatcharachan, was a highly respected monk from Wat Phra Phutthabat Chon Daen, located in Chon Daen District, Phetchabun Province. Born in 1881 in Ban Hua Lom, Tambon Nai Yom, Phetchabun, he was the son of Phuek and In. Luang Por Thob was ordained as a novice in 1897 at Wat Chang Phueak and later as a monk in 1902 at Wat Ko Kaeo, Ban Nai Yom. His ordination was guided by Phra Khru Muang as his preceptor, Phra Ajahn Pan as his kamma vajācariya, and Phra Ajahn Si as his anusavanachan.

Known as "The God of Mercy," Luang Por Thob was a compassionate and calm monk, known for his quiet demeanor and deep wisdom. Throughout his life, he played a key role in building and renovating numerous temples across the Phetchabun area. Among them were Wat Sila Mong, Wat Sao Thong Thong Charoentham, Wat Ko Kaew, Wat Sawang Arun, Wat Phra Phutthabat Khao Noi, and Wat Chang Phueak. His dedication to restoring these temples brought them prosperity and spiritual growth.

Luang Por Thob also embarked on several ascetic pilgrimages, immersing himself in deep meditation and spiritual practices. Wherever he stayed, he left a legacy of restoration and renewal, greatly benefiting the local communities.

He passed away peacefully on March 14, 1976. As per his wishes, his body was placed in a glass coffin inside a pavilion at Wat Phra Phutthabat Chon Daen. Remarkably, his body has remained intact, showing no signs of decomposition, which further enhances his spiritual legacy. Many people continue to visit and pay homage to him, as his teachings and presence remain a source of inspiration and reverence. Luang Por Thob is widely believed to have attained high levels of Dhamma and is venerated for his spiritual accomplishments.
