In the case reported by Taling Chan Police Station about a thief stealing amulets at the amulet and sacred object contest at SC Plaza Market, Bangkok Bus Terminal (New Southern Line), Taling Chan District, Bangkok, Mr. Alongkot (surname withheld), 34, from Chonburi Province, was found lying at the base of the stairs on the first floor, groaning in pain from a head injury and fractured chin, with blood on the floor. The officers administered first aid before taking him to the station for questioning.

It was revealed that Mr. Alongkot had jumped from the third floor, hitting the ground hard. A search of his body uncovered two amulets: a "first-edition coin of Luang Por Thong Yu, Wat Mai Nong Pha Ong" in a gold frame and a "Luang Pu Phem coin from Wat Klang Bang Kaew" in a silver case, sparking interest in Luang Por Thong Yu of Wat Mai Nong Pha Ong, whose name may not be widely known outside amulet-collecting circles but is highly respected among collectors for his reputation in invulnerability. Luang Pu Toh of Wat Pradu Chim Pli also confirmed Luang Por Thong Yu's exceptional mastery of Buddhist magic.

Luang Por Thong Yu, born Thong Yu Singhaseni (formerly Chomprarop), was born on May 7, 1887, as the third of five children to Mr. Kam and Mrs. Pan Chomprarop. Since childhood, he was closely connected to the temple, frequently helping with its construction and daily activities. Known for his kindness and love for friends, Luang Por Thong Yu developed a deep interest in Buddhist magic and alchemy, learning under Phra Ajahn Hae Panchasuwanno.

He initially served in the Royal Navy during the reigns of King Rama V and King Rama VI before resigning to become a farmer near Wat Bueng Phraya Suren in Min Buri District, where he supported his family. After experiencing the life of a householder, and following the death of his first wife, Nang Nu, Luang Por Thong Yu, at 31, decided to be ordained as a monk at Wat Mai Nong Pha Ong.

After ordination, Luang Por studied Dhamma and Vinaya, achieving inner peace and a deep understanding of the Buddhist teachings. He embarked on a pilgrimage for over 30 years, journeying through forests and mountains to seek knowledge from various masters. During this time, he met many notable monks, including Kruba Srivichai, with whom he shared knowledge of Samatha and Vipassana meditation.

Luang Por Thong Yu also studied under the renowned Luang Pu Thong of Wat Ratchayotha, a junior disciple of Somdej Phra Phutthachan (To Phrommarangsi), where he learned advanced spells and meditation techniques. Luang Por Thong Yu's network of fellow monks included other prominent figures, such as Luang Pu Toh of Wat Pradu Chim Pli, with whom he often participated in amulet blessing ceremonies.

Luang Por Thong Yu became the abbot of Wat Mai Nong Pha Ong in 1930, serving until his passing on December 16, 1983, at the age of 96. His legacy lives on through the amulets and sacred objects he blessed, known for their powerful protective properties.
