In 1974, while on a Tudong journey through the mountains of Phetchabun, Luang Pu Khui arrived at Ban Tham Duang, a secluded area with forests and waterfalls. Recognizing its peaceful environment as ideal for meditation, he decided to settle there. The local villagers, moved by his teachings and presence, invited him to establish a temple.

This led to the founding of Wat Sap Takhian, where Luang Pu Khui served as the abbot. Under his leadership, the temple developed into a respected center for Buddhist practice and community engagement.

Luang Pu Khui was also recognized for his mastery of traditional Thai Buddhist magic, known as Wicha.
