Phra Pidta Bailan BE2521 – Wat Lat Pla Duk, Blessed by Luang Pu Toh (Wat Pradoochimplee)

The Phra Pidta Bailan BE2521 from Wat Lat Pla Duk, Nonthaburi, is one of the most spiritually powerful amulets ever blessed by the venerable Luang Pu Toh Intasuwanno of Wat Pradoochimplee, Bangkok. Crafted from Phong Bailan — sacred black powder made from burnt palm-leaf scriptures — this amulet embodies protection, metta, and prosperity.

Historical Context

In BE2521 (1978), Wat Lat Pla Duk in Nonthaburi Province produced a batch of Phra Pidta amulets using Phong Bailan — the burnt remains of ancient Buddhist scriptures. The batch was consecrated under the direction of Luang Pu Toh Intasuwanno of Wat Pradoochimplee, one of the most revered monks of 20th-century Thailand. His blessing transformed this batch into one of the most spiritually potent Phra Pidta of its era.

Purpose of Creation

  • To commemorate the temple’s renovation and spread Buddhist merit.
  • To offer devotees an amulet blessed by Luang Pu Toh for protection and prosperity.
  • To preserve sacred knowledge through the transformation of ancient scriptures into spiritual power.
  • To raise temple funds and strengthen the community’s faith in the Dhamma.

Materials & Craftsmanship

The core ingredient, Phong Bailan, comes from burning aged palm-leaf Buddhist manuscripts inscribed with Pali mantras and suttas. These ashes, representing the wisdom of the Buddha’s teachings, were mixed with other sacred powders such as:

  • Phong Itthi Jay – victorious power powder
  • Phong Pattamung – for invincibility and spiritual resilience
  • Phong Trini Singhae – protective tiger charm element

The mixture was hand-pressed into traditional Phra Pidta molds and dried naturally under auspicious lunar conditions.

Consecration & Spiritual Empowerment

The Puttapisek consecration ceremony was held at Wat Lat Pla Duk and presided over by Luang Pu Toh along with senior monks from neighboring temples. The ceremony lasted multiple days, involving continuous chanting of Pali suttas, invocation of arahants, and the Phithi Pit Tong (sealing ritual) to empower the amulets for long-term protective strength.

Spiritual Significance & Benefits

  • Kongkraphan Chatri – strong protection from danger, weapons, and negative energy.
  • Metta Maha Niyom – enhances charm, compassion, and support from others.
  • Wealth and Trade Luck – attracts good fortune and prosperous opportunities.
  • Spiritual Focus – aids meditation and clarity of mind.

Rarity & Collectibility

This batch of Phra Pidta Bailan BE2521 is highly sought after by collectors due to the direct blessing by Luang Pu Toh and its use of authentic Phong Bailan. Very few pieces remain in circulation today, making it a prized relic for devotees seeking genuine protection and spiritual merit.

Summary / Conclusion

The Phra Pidta Bailan BE2521 from Wat Lat Pla Duk stands as a remarkable testament to the combined power of Buddhist wisdom and Luang Pu Toh’s baramee. Revered for protection, metta, and wealth, it remains a timeless symbol of faith and spiritual transformation.
