Luang Phor Tae (Lp Tae) Wat Sam Ngam, Nakhon Pathom
(encased with waterproof casing)

Phra Phong Nang Kratay (Rabbit-Seat Buddha Amulet)

Year Issued: B.E. 2518 (1975)

Monk: Luang Phor Tae (LP Tae)

Temple: Wat Sam Ngam, Nakhon Pathom Province

Material: Phong (sacred powder)

Encasement: Typically comes encased in sealed waterproof plastic casing from the temple

1. Purpose of Creation

This amulet was created with the intention of:

  • Celebrating auspicious astrological alignment connected with the Year of the Rabbit (a symbol of compassion, calmness, and wealth in Thai-Buddhist cosmology)

  • Bestowing blessings of metta (loving-kindness), charm, and harmony to devotees

  • Raising funds for temple restoration and dhamma propagation projects under Luang Phor Tae’s guidance

2. Symbolism

The image of Phra Phong Nang Kratay (พระพุทธนั่งกระต่าย) features:

  • A Buddha image seated in meditation atop a rabbit figure

  • The rabbit (kratay) represents gentleness, cleverness, agility, and good fortune

  • Symbolizes peaceful success, especially for people born in the Rabbit zodiac year or involved in healing, trade, or spiritual practices

3. Material Composition

The amulet was made using Phong Wahn Saan Ya (herbal and spiritual powder):

  • Rare sacred herbs and crushed flowers gathered during Buddhist holy days

  • Mixed with Phong Phutthakun (Buddha virtue powder) and residues from earlier consecrated powders used by LP Tae in his famous “Hanuman” and “Kuman Thong” amulets

  • Some amulets include traces of holy relic dust and powdered herbs from jungle monasteries

4. Blessing Ceremony

  • Chanted and consecrated over multiple sessions by Luang Phor Tae, known for his deep spiritual power and control of spiritual beings (Katha Hanuman and Katha Kuman Thong)

  • The final mass blessing was held at Wat Sam Ngam, with assistance from other senior monks from Nakhon Pathom and nearby provinces

  • The ritual included invocations of the devas (celestial beings) to protect wearers and instill charm and fortune

5. Physical Features

  • Size: Small, pocketable — ideal for everyday wear

  • Shape: Oval or rectangular, depending on the mold used

  • Front: Buddha seated in full meditation on a gentle rabbit image

  • Back: Often plain or stamped with temple seal

  • Casing: Waterproof, clear acrylic casing issued by the temple to protect the delicate powder base

6. Sacred Benefits

Devotees believe this amulet brings:

  • Metta Mahaniyom: Charisma, popularity, and kindness from others

  • Klaew Klaad: Protection from harm and danger

  • Chok Larp: Fortune in business, trade, and unexpected windfalls

  • Peaceful energy for meditation, relationships, and family harmony

  • Enhanced spiritual presence and energetic lightness

It is particularly favored by:

  • Traders, business owners, healers, teachers, and those working in public service or negotiation

7. Collectibility and Legacy

  • Though not as widely known as LP Tae’s Hanuman and Kuman Thong series, Phra Phong Nang Kratay is rare and highly respected among inner-circle devotees

  • Original waterproof encasement versions from the temple in excellent condition are highly sought after by collectors

  • Its spiritual theme and zodiac significance make it a powerful talisman across generations
