Early earthen Kuman Duk (Nur Din Pacha Chagwad) attributed to LP Chaem, Wat Takong.

Historical Significance

Dated to BE 2480 (1937 CE), this Kuman Duk is attributed to Luang Phor Chaem of Wat Takong.
The material designation Nur Din Pacha Chagwad — popularly rendered as “soil from seven cemeteries” — is part of ritual phrasing that signals
gravitas and protective potency in Thai sacred craft. The matrix and form reflect inter-war regional practice: hand-prepared clay, sanctified powder,
and kiln-free or low-heat curing that preserve natural tonality and field texture.

Obverse — devotional contour, granular field, and even maturation of the earthen matrix.

Contextual Insight: Late-2470s to 2480s nur din often shows layered granularity, mineral flecks,
and micro-voids under raking light — signatures of hand-prepared matrices and low-heat setting rather than modern kilning. These cues aid
material analysis and informed collecting when paired with institutional verification.

Reverse — consolidated body with natural inclusions; edge transitions consistent with period molds.

Temple of Origin & Master’s Discipline

Wat Takong maintains a reputation for disciplined practice and regional ritual craft. LP Chaem’s
consecration follows wicha (esoteric method) of combining sacred powder and temple earth in devotional forms that
emphasize protective guardianship and ethical livelihood support.
