1. Background and Purpose of Creation

In B.E. 2554 (2011), to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the 89th birthday of Luang Pu Khambu Kuttajitto, Wat Kudchumpoo organized the creation of the “Rian 生意好” amulet.

The purposes of creating this commemorative batch were:

• To honor Luang Pu Khambu’s 89 years of life dedicated to Buddhism, meditation, and the betterment of the community.

• To raise funds for the development and renovation of Wat Kudchumpoo, supporting religious structures, monk residences, and Dhamma education projects.

• To produce a spiritual object that would serve as a blessing for business prosperity, reflecting both Thai and Chinese cultural influences.

This was one of the few times a Thai amulet incorporated Chinese characters to resonate with the wider Southeast Asian devotee community.

2. Amulet Design and Symbolism

Front (Obverse)

• Features a detailed portrait of Luang Pu Khambu in a serene meditative posture, representing purity, mindfulness, and compassion.

• The design captures his peaceful aura and the strength of his lifelong Dhamma practice.

Back (Reverse)

• Engraved with the Chinese phrase “生意好” (Shēng Yì Hǎo), meaning “Good Business” or “Prosperous Commerce.”

• This symbolic inscription aims to bestow prosperity, success, and flourishing opportunities to those who venerate or wear the amulet.

Material

• Crafted from Nur Pluk Lukpun, a sacred mixed metal alloy that enhances durability, spiritual conductivity, and auspiciousness.

The amulets were consecrated in a grand Phutthaphisek ceremony at Wat Kudchumpoo.

• Personally presided over by Luang Pu Khambu, who led the chanting and meditative empowerment sessions.

• Incorporation of sacred mantras such as Itthipiso, Chinabanchon, and katha for wealth and metta.
