Purpose of Creation

This Sao 5 (Khun Phet Ratchapat) edition in BE2540 was created to commemorate the 75th birthday of
Luang Phor Koon Parisuttho, one of Thailand’s most widely revered monks. Beyond celebration, the heart of this batch is
merit through education — proceeds were directed to support the construction of the
Luang Phor Koon Parisuttho Technical College, created to help underprivileged youth access vocational and technical training.

Materials & Production Details

This variant is finished in Khalai Thong (silver plating), presenting a bright, refined tone over a sacred-metal base.
Collector notes commonly mention multiple material variants within the wider BE2540 Sao 5 release, including sacred mixed alloys and lead-based versions,
with strict selection standards during production (imperfect pieces removed), resulting in a carefully curated output.

Design & Symbolism

  • Front: Buddha in Pang Chana Marn (Victory over Mara) — symbol of triumph over obstacles and inner steadfastness.
  • Back: sacred yantra lines with “Koon” (คูณ) and “Na” (นะ) marks — associated with blessing, protection, and auspicious support (belief-based).
  • Form: oval vertical medallion format — popular for daily wear and easy pairing with chains/casings.

Consecration & Blessing Period

Tradition holds that the blessing was conducted intensively throughout the Rains Retreat (Buddhist Lent) of BE2540
at Wat Ban Rai, with Luang Phor Koon personally empowering the batch through sustained chanting and devotional practice.
