  • Known for: A highly respected monk known for his spiritual discipline, deep meditation, and knowledge of ancient Wicha (sacred sciences). He was well connected with other revered monks of the mid-20th century.

  • B.E. 2497 (1954)

  • This is the first batch (Roon 1) of Phra Somdej created by Luang Phor Toon.


🔨 Purpose and Significance

The Phra Somdej Ket Mongkol Roon 1 was created with the intention of:

  • Raising funds for temple renovations and the construction of religious buildings.

  • Blessing devotees with protection, good fortune, and spiritual progress.

  • To continue the sacred tradition of Somdej amulet-making following the path of Somdej Toh of Wat Rakang.


🧪 Sacred Materials (Nur Phong)

Luang Phor Toon was meticulous in collecting the sacred ingredients for this first batch:

  • Phong Itthijay, Phong Maharach, and Phong Putthakun from various temples

  • Broken fragments of old Phra Somdej amulets

  • Sacred powder (Phong Wahn) from ceremonies conducted by senior monks

  • Holy ashes, incense, and flower pollen from major temples in Bangkok

  • Herbal ingredients and powdered relics obtained through spiritual ceremonies

The materials were blessed over many months before being molded into the final amulets.


🛕 Consecration Ceremony

Held at Wat Pho Nimit with support and attendance from many well-known monks in the region.

  1. Luang Phor Toon (Main presiding monk)

  2. Luang Phor Tae – Wat Sam Ngam

  3. Luang Pu Sodh – Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen

  4. Luang Phor Thong – Wat Pho Thong

  5. Luang Phor Toh – Wat Pradu Chimphli (in spiritual alignment, not physically present)

The amulets were consecrated using a traditional 3-day and 3-night Buddha Abhiseka ritual with chanting, incense, and meditation.


🧿 Design Features

  • Style: Inspired by Phra Somdej Wat Rakang, but with distinctive markings known as “Ket Mongkol” (auspicious knots).

  • Material: Light brown or cream sacred powder, often with natural signs of age

  • Size: Standard Pim Yai (large mold), rectangular in shape

  • Back: Some versions bear yantras or temple stamps
