**SOLD**

Phra Khun Phaen Sao 3 Humban • BE 2544

Wat Ta Ee, Buriram • Lang Kuman • Nur Phong (sacred powders)

Main obverse — “Sao 3 Humban” triple-pose Khun Phaen; fine powder matrix with visible pressed grain.

Historical Significance

Issued in BE 2544 (2001 CE) at Wat Ta Ee, Buriram, this edition by Luang Pu Chuen Tiknyano reflects the Northeastern (Isan–Khmer) devotional current that blended charm (saneh) rites with protective wicha (esoteric methods). Consecrated in Putthapisek (ritual empowerment) with temple devotees, it supported community needs and temple works while continuing LP Chuen’s renowned Khun Phaen lineage.

Side/detail — even edges, light hand-press marks; binder sheen minimal.

Contextual Insight: “Sao 3 Humban” references three compositional attitudes of Khun Phaen on the obverse, symbolising wisdom, compassion, and protection. The Lang Kuman back draws on the Kuman Thong guardianship belief for prosperity and safeguarding. LP Chuen’s formula synthesises Khmer-influenced wicha for Metta Mahaniyom (loving-kindness/popularity) with practical protection (Klaew Klaad).

Temple of Origin & Master’s Discipline

Wat Ta Ee is noted for Isan–Khmer ritual craft and community-centered blessings. LP Chuen’s discipline emphasised meditative focus and ethics before wicha application, reflected in the balanced proportions and clear iconography. The tradition of putthapisek (“Buddha-empowerment rite”) and katha (chant cycles) guides the sacred process here.

Reverse — “Lang Kuman” motif; powder stratification and hand-press texture are observable.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Material Nur Phong composite: devotional powders, scripture ash, temple soil; fine binder yielding matte, slightly fibrous breaks.
Mold / Pim “Sao 3 Humban” (triple-pose) with Lang Kuman reverse; look for crisp facial planes, consistent beading, and even press depth.
Consecration Multi-phase Putthapisek; LP Chuen’s katha for Metta/Saneh and protection; devotees’ offering circuits.

Thaprachan certificate — market-recognised verification for this specimen.

Spiritual Function & Doctrinal Purpose

According to Thai Buddhist belief, this amulet supports Metta Mahaniyom (loving-kindness/popularity), Maha Saneh (charm), Maha Lap (fortune), and Klaew Klaad (evasion from dangers). Devotees traditionally wear it for confident presence, smoother negotiations, and protective calm in travel and work.

Rarity & Collector Significance

Assessed as collector-grade within LP Chuen’s early-2000s Khun Phaen series. Collectors note powder layering, clean mold lines, and authenticated examples with market certificates (e.g., Thaprachan). Well-preserved textures with original surfaces are sought after for scholarship and competitive display.
