Overview of Phra Luang Pu Thuad Nur Wahn BE2513 by Phor Than Khao, Wat Changhai

History of Phra Luang Pu Thuad Nur Wahn BE2513 by Phor Than Khao

In B.E. 2513 (1970), Phor Than Khao (Phra Khru Baidika Khao Rakkhittadhammo), the younger brother of Luang Phor Tim and then Abbot of Wat Chang Hai, initiated this special batch of Luang Pu Thuad amulets in Nur Wahn (herbal powder) to continue the sacred legacy started by his predecessor.

Purpose of Creation

  • Preserve the protective power and spiritual energy of Luang Pu Thuad.
  • Provide affordable yet potent amulets for devotees.
  • Continue the lineage of authentic amulets empowered through direct spiritual connection with Luang Pu Thuad.

About Phor Than Khao (Phra Khru Baidika Khao)

  • Younger brother of Luang Phor Tim, creator of the famous BE2497 Luang Pu Thuad batch.
  • Born: July 7, B.E. 2463 (1920)
  • Served as Abbot of Wat Chang Hai: B.E. 2512–2521
  • Respected for meditative attainments, herbal knowledge, and Buddhist magic (wicha).

Sacred Materials (Nur Wahn Composition)

This batch followed the original sacred recipe used in the BE2497 Luang Pu Thuad amulets, comprising:

  • 108 types of sacred herbs (wahn)
  • Pong Ittijae, Pong Pathamang, Pong Maharaj and other ancient powders
  • Charcoal ash from incense used in major consecration ceremonies
  • Crushed fragments of old Luang Pu Thuad amulets from Wat Chang Hai
  • Dried floral pollen from temple offerings
  • Sacred soil from holy sites in Southern Thailand

The powder was hand-pressed into various Pim (molds), typically Pim Yai, Pim Lek, and other traditional shapes.

Consecration Ceremony

The consecration took place in Wat Chang Hai’s main viharn, historically associated with Luang Pu Thuad’s spiritual presence.

  • Phor Than Khao personally led the consecration, using chants and meditative empowerment techniques handed down from Luang Phor Tim.
  • The ceremony was conducted in deep seclusion, following the traditional Southern Thai protocols.
  • Other monks from the Southern provinces were invited to participate in the blessing.

Many disciples and monks attested to visions and unusual energetic phenomena during the ceremony, reinforcing the belief that Luang Pu Thuad’s spirit was actively involved in the empowerment process.

Characteristics of the Amulet

  • Material: Nur Wahn (herbal powder), with dark brown to black tones.
  • Texture: Natural herbal roughness with fine grains of old amulet fragments.
  • Reverse side: Some batches feature Yant inscriptions or sacred scripts.
  • Common Pim: Pim Yai, Pim Lek, and variants with Lang Yant (inscribed back).

These amulets emit a distinct herbal aroma and are appreciated for their natural, uncoated surface—a hallmark of genuine Nur Wahn formulas.

Spiritual Significance

  • Strong protection (Klaew Klaad)
  • Escape from danger
  • Fortune and spiritual merit
  • Powerful connection to Luang Pu Thuad’s energy

Because Phor Than Khao was directly related and trained by Luang Phor Tim, many consider this batch a spiritual continuation of the famous BE2497 Wat Chang Hai batch.

Legacy and Collector Value

  • While not as widely circulated as the BE2497 batch, the BE2513 edition is highly respected by regional devotees and seasoned collectors.
  • Due to limited production, this batch remains rare but highly potent, often handed down within families.
  • Some pieces have received certification from major Thai amulet authentication bodies and occasionally appear in auction events or private collections.

Conclusion

The Phra Luang Pu Thuad Nur Wahn BE2513 by Phor Than Khao is more than a sacred object—it is a living continuation of a powerful spiritual lineage rooted in faith, discipline, and meditative empowerment. For those seeking authentic protection and heritage from Wat Chang Hai, this amulet is a significant and meaningful choice.
