Historical Significance

Wat Bang Krang is among Ayutthaya’s revered sites. The famed Kru Wat Bang Krang chamber yielded ancient Khun Paen relics embodying Ayutthaya-period craftsmanship: balanced silhouettes, finely graded clays, and devotional powders. The Pim Na Mongkol Klang is celebrated for auspicious blessings of power, charm, and protection—qualities closely linked with the Khun Paen legend and devotional practice.

Side relief — shows clay density and ancient kiln/sun-cure aging.

Close-up — textured grains, candle soot traces, and ritual residues.

Sacred Composition

The clay blend (nur phong) is traditionally mixed with temple soils and devotional residues from ceremonies—mantra-infused powders, candle wax, and incense ash—imbuing the piece with a devotional “breath.” Centuries of natural raan (patina) and mineral “blooming” are consistent with ancient kru chamber conditions.

Surface detail — micro-cracks and granular strata from age.
