The Phra Phong Suan Ruen Kaew B.E. 2484 is a rare sacred amulet created by
Luang Phor Choti of Wat Tano and jointly consecrated by the great
Luang Pu Toh of Wat Pradoochimplee. Crafted in B.E. 2484 (C.E. 1941),

Purpose and Historical Context

The amulet was created during the early years of World War II with three intentions:

  • Fundraising: Support Wat Tano’s restoration during wartime hardship.
  • Protection: Safeguard devotees against war, illness, and spiritual harm.
  • Preservation: Maintain sacred powder formulas of the Wat Tano lineage.

Sacred Materials (Nur Phong)

The Nur Phong mixture used for this edition included:

  • Fragments of old broken amulets (Phong Wan Sarn).
  • Sacred powders from senior monks, including Wat Rakang and Bang Khun Phrom.
  • Herbs, pollen, and temple sand with protective qualities.
  • Ashes from incense, oil-lamp soot, and soil from sacred sites.

Consecration Ceremony

The blessing was conducted in two phases:

Phase 1 – Wat Tano

  • Three days of continuous chanting and candle-lit rituals by local monks.

Phase 2 – Wat Pradoochimplee

  • Presided by Luang Pu Toh, who invoked Katha Baramee for Metta and protection.
  • Attended by famous monks such as Luang Phor Chong (Wat Natangnok), Luang Phor Kong (Wat Bang Gapom), and disciples of Luang Phor Parn (Wat Bang Nom Kho).

Physical Characteristics

  • Front: Seated Buddha in meditation posture.
  • Back: Sacred Yant inscriptions or temple insignia.
  • Material: Crumbly sacred powder with herbal particles.
  • Color: Ranging from cream to earthy brown tones.

Spiritual Significance

  • Klaew Klaad: Protection from danger, weapons, and misfortune.
  • Metta Mahaniyom: Improves charm, business favor, and relationships.
  • Maha Ut / Kongkrapan: Invulnerability during conflict and safe travel.
  • Mental clarity: Symbolic of the “Crystal Pavilion Garden” in meditation practice.

Legacy and Rarity

Produced in limited numbers and distributed during the war, the Phra Phong Suan Ruen Kaew BE2484
is today a rare and treasured relic. Its joint consecration with Luang Pu Toh adds
immense prestige and makes it a highly sought-after amulet for collectors and devotees alike.
