Background & Purpose

Issued to honor the legacy of Somdej Phra Phutthachan (Toh Promrangsi), founder of the Wat Rakang Somdej tradition, this
Rian Prok Pho portrays Somdej Toh in contemplative poise beneath the Bodhi canopy (Pho Prok). The batch supported
monastic education, temple maintenance, and continued Dhamma propagation at Wat Rakang.

Iconography

  • Obverse: Somdej Toh seated beneath the Bodhi tree (Prok Pho), symbolizing enlightenment, steadiness, and grace.
  • Reverse: Sacred Buddha imagery reinforcing blessings and devotional focus.

Composition — Nur Phong Phasom

Core Powders Phong Itthijay, Phong Trinisinghe, and selected Phong Phutthakun (virtue powders).
Inclusions Fragments of earlier Somdej amulets; sacred wall/chedi dust; bailan scripture ash; incense ash; wax and candle residue from major rites.
Format Pressed rian-style piece with clear relief and devotional wear tolerance for daily enshrinement.

Consecration

Conducted in the Uposatha Hall at Wat Rakang under Luang Pu Nak, with senior Bangkok Sangha joining
in multi-round chanting and meditation. The rite emphasized calm abiding, protection, and Somdej lineage blessings.

About Luang Pu Nak

Luang Pu Nak (Phra Ratchawithetpanyakhun) was a highly disciplined contemplative known for careful ritual orthodoxy and
faithful continuation of the Somdej Toh lineage. Though his productions were not prolific, they are prized for sobriety,
ritual cleanliness, and enduring efficacy.
