Description

Phra Somdej Lang Yant • Nur Phong • BE2513

Chao Khun Nor (Wat Thepsirin) • Issued to Wat Sin Khan

Main obverse — classic Somdej throne within arch; compact, meditative proportions.

Historical Significance

Created in BE2513 (1970 CE) under Chao Khun Nor (Phra Yanarat Ratchamanit) of Wat Thepsirin,
this Somdej Lang Yant was issued for Wat Sin Khan to support restoration and Dhamma propagation.
Known for private empowerments rather than public ceremonies, CK Nor infused these pieces through prolonged meditation and chant cycles.

Obverse detail — throne tiers and arch referencing Wat Rakhang/Thepsirin lineages.

Contextual Insight:
CK Nor’s later-era amulets were typically empowered in solitude. The Lang Yant reverse introduces protective geometry
to the Somdej archetype, joining contemplative calm with ritual safeguarding typical of mid-BE2510s Bangkok.

Temple of Origin & Master’s Discipline

Wat Thepsirin was CK Nor’s base of practice; the batch’s proceeds and merit were directed to Wat Sin Khan.
Emphasis on samādhi and restrained ritual explains the subtle, centered molding and the sober, protective yantra on the reverse.

Reverse — Lang Yant geometry for Metta, Klaew Klaad, and Chok Lap.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Material Sacred Nur Phong powder including Phong Itijay, Phong Pattamung, scripture fragments, and ritual oil traces (Nam Man Mon).
Mold / Pim Somdej archetype; balanced tiers; restrained arch. Reverse bears protective Lang Yant.
Empowerment Multiple private sessions by CK Nor: silent katha, deep samādhi, visualized energy transfer.

Spiritual Function & Doctrinal Purpose

According to Thai Buddhist belief, the Lang Yant reverse supports Metta Mahaniyom (goodwill and affinity),
Klaew Klaad (evasion from harm), and Chok Lap (prosperity and opportunity).
Devotees wear it for calm clarity, moral steadiness, and quiet protection.

Rarity & Collector Significance

Assessed as Collector-grade among CK Nor’s later works. Collectors seek tidy arch lines, well-pressed throne tiers,
and clear reverse yantra. Authentic, well-kept examples issued to Wat Sin Khan remain scarce and highly prized.
