Roop Tai Mae Chee Boon Ruen
Roon “Chao Sap Saen Lan” — เจ้าทรัพย์แสนล้าน
B.E. 2567 (2024)
Created under the direction of Phra Kru Palat Setthada Bhatthrawutho (พระครูปลัดเศรษฐาดา ภทฺทราวุโธ)
This special Roop Tai (sacred portrait) of Mae Chee Boon Ruen Tong Boonterm was created in B.E. 2567 under the auspicious name “Chao Sap Saen Lan”, meaning “Master of Immeasurable Wealth.” The name reflects the traditional association of Mae Chee Boon Ruen’s sacred objects with Pokasap (prosperity), good fortune, successful livelihood and the accumulation of wealth.
Mae Chee Boon Ruen Tong Boonterm is one of Thailand’s most respected lay Buddhist practitioners, closely associated with Wat Awut Wikasitaram, Bangkok. Among collectors, her sacred objects are particularly treasured for the tradition surrounding her Adhitthan — concentrated prayer and spiritual determination — and for famous materials such as Phra Phuttho Noi, Sila Nam, consecrated rice, sacred gemstones, silver and golden sand.
The Amulet
The front features a traditional monochrome portrait of Mae Chee Boon Ruen, presented in the familiar devotional style associated with her sacred photographs.
What makes this piece especially interesting is its reverse. Rather than being merely a printed portrait, the back incorporates an assemblage of sacred materials connected with Mae Chee Boon Ruen and earlier Buddhist sacred objects. Published information for the Chao Sap Saen Lan 67 series confirms the use of these materials and identifies Phra Kru Palat Setthada as the person responsible for its creation.
17 Sacred Materials
The materials associated with this edition include:
- Phra Phuttho Noi B.E. 2494 — sacred material from one of Mae Chee Boon Ruen’s most recognised early amulets.
- Relics of Mae Chee Boon Ruen (Atthi That).
- Somdej Lang Riab B.E. 2499 sacred material.
- Birthday Buddha B.E. 2499 sacred material.
- Luang Pu Thuat B.E. 2506 sacred material.
- Phra Phuttho B.E. 2511 sacred material.
- Sila Nam of Mae Chee Boon Ruen — one of the materials most closely associated with her tradition.
- Sacred Silver and Golden Sand (Sai Ngern – Sai Thong).
- Consecrated Gemstones (Ploi Sek).
- Nila / sacred black stone.
- Lek Lai, traditionally regarded as an auspicious mineral substance.
- Consecrated Rice (Khao San Sek).
- Consecrated Sai Sin sacred thread.
- Khao Tok Phra Ruang, associated with Mae Chee Boon Ruen.
- Roof-tile material from the ubosot of Wat Sarnath.
- Roof-tile material from Mae Chee Boon Ruen’s sala at Wat Awut Wikasitaram.
- Sacred flower pollen/material offered in connection with Mae Chee Boon Ruen.
Contemporary descriptions of the B.E. 2567 series independently list this distinctive combination, including Phra Phuttho Noi B.E. 2494, Mae Chee Boon Ruen relics, B.E. 2499 materials, Luang Pu Thuat B.E. 2506, Phra Phuttho B.E. 2511, Sila Nam, consecrated rice, Sai Sin, gemstones, Lek Lai, roof tiles and other auspicious substances.
Collector’s Significance
For an amulet collector, the appeal of this piece lies in the combination of portrait and physical sacred materials. The front preserves the image of Mae Chee Boon Ruen as the focus of devotion, while the reverse brings together materials representing several generations of her sacred tradition.
The title “Chao Sap Saen Lan” gives the edition a strong Pokasap character. It is therefore traditionally collected or worn with aspirations toward prosperity, business success, financial stability, opportunities, good fortune and protection. These should be understood as traditional Buddhist-amulet beliefs rather than guaranteed effects.
The B.E. 2567 Chao Sap Saen Lan materials are documented as having been created under the direction of Phra Kru Palat Setthada of Wat Awut Wikasitaram, further strengthening the edition’s connection to the continuing Mae Chee Boon Ruen tradition.
