Biography

Luang PuThonglor Apinantho (Phra Khru Banhan Nawakit) – Biography

Luang Pu Thonglor Apinantho was a highly revered monk from Wat Prod Sat, located in Khunon Luang Subdistrict, Bang Pa-In District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. He was born into the Komaratat family, which had historical connections to Wang Bang Khun Phrom (the former royal residence of Thai nobility). However, the exact details of his birthdate remain unclear.

Ordination and Monastic Training

Luang Pu Thonglor was ordained on May 22, 1939 (B.E. 2482) at Wat Prod Sat. His preceptor was Luang hor Fak of Wat Thamle Thai. After ordination, he dedicated himself to studying Buddhist scriptures and practicing Vipassana meditation with great diligence.

He studied under several renowned monks, including:

  • Luang Phor Klan of Wat Phra Yat
  • Luang Phor Pan of Wat Bang Nom Kho
  • Luang Phor Khiao of Wat Thai Nam
  • Luang Phor Sodh of Wat Paknam

Through these studies, he became highly proficient in Buddhist teachings, meditation practices, and sacred incantations.

Spiritual Contributions and Recognition

Due to his exceptional spiritual accomplishments, Luang Pu Thonglor gained widespread recognition and was revered as a powerful monk. In 1974 (B.E. 2517), he was granted the honorary monastic title “Phra Khru Banhan Nawakit” in recognition of his contributions to Buddhism.

He played a pivotal role in developing Wat Prod Sat, both in terms of infrastructure and spiritual teachings. He was well-respected for his kindness, humility, and commitment to Buddhist practice. His reputation extended beyond Ayutthaya, making him a well-known figure among followers of Thai Buddhism.

Passing and Legacy

Luang Pu Thonglor passed away on November 18, 2017 (B.E. 2560). However, records do not explicitly confirm his age at the time of passing.

He left behind a profound legacy, with his teachings, amulets, and sacred objects continuing to be cherished by devotees. His amulets, particularly those blessed under his guidance, are highly sought after by collectors and believers for their reputed spiritual benefits.
