LP Phat (Luang Phor Phat) — Nur Wahn • B.E. 2505

Wat Phatthanaram, Southern Thailand • Consecrated by Phor Than Klai (Wat Suan Khan) with LP Tim (Wat Chang Hai)

Main obverse — compact pim for daily wear; dark herbal matrix typical of Nur Wahn.

Historical Significance

Issued in B.E. 2505 (1962 CE) to honor Luang Phor Phat Naratho of Wat Phatthanaram, this posthumous edition drew together southern Thailand’s most respected masters. The Putthapisek (ritual empowerment) was presided by Phor Than Klai (Wat Suan Khan), with participation from Luang Phor Tim (Wat Chang Hai) and other elders, aligning the batch with protection, metta, and livelihood blessings.

Consecration cadre — presided by Phor Than Klai; with LP Tim and senior southern monks.

Contextual Insight: Southern Thailand’s wicha traditions emphasize protective blessings (Klaew Klaad) and dignified conduct (Metta Mahaniyom). This BE2505 issue stands at the intersection of memorial devotion to LP Phat and the living authority of Phor Than Klai’s and LP Tim’s ritual lineages.

Temple of Origin & Master’s Discipline

Wat Phatthanaram maintained a strong culture of meditation and merit-making. The presiding masters’ discipline centered on mindful chanting cycles and doctrinally grounded empowerment so amulets function as tools for remembrance, restraint, and right livelihood.

Material view — deep herbal tone; pressed grain and natural micro-pitting from drying.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Material Nur Wahn (sacred herbal powder): 108 herbs, Phong Bailan (burnt scripture ash), traces of prior consecrated powders, yantra-cloth ash, and altar flower pollen.
Mold / Pim Pim lek (small format) for daily carry; typically dark brown to black; some retain a faint herbal scent.
Consecration Memorial edition; multi-day Putthapisek led by Phor Than Klai with LP Tim and regional elders; chant cycles for Metta, Klaew Klaad, and livelihood fortune.

Devotional use — traditionally worn for protection, metta, and dignified presence.

Spiritual Function & Doctrinal Purpose

According to Thai Buddhist belief, this amulet supports Klaew Klaad (safe passage/avert danger), Metta Mahaniyom (social grace and nobleman support), Chok Lap (good fortune), and Buddha Nissayon (health and peaceful mindfulness).

Devotional use — traditionally worn for protection, metta, and dignified presence.

Rarity & Collector Significance

Assessed as Collector-grade within early-1960s southern issues. Authentication focuses on herbal matrix tone, powder stratification, and period press characteristics. Memorial context and elite consecration cadre sustain strong demand among regional specialists.
